Day 103

Sholop was in my tavern last evening. Yesterday one of his friends was bitten in the neck by a white wolf and nearly died from blood loss. He told me that he has had enough of those wolves, and is planning ways to stop to their attacks.

Day 102

Darklow has been frequenting my tavern more often than he used to. I wonder if that cave he spends so much time in is finally getting to him!

Day 98

Gomald has been excavating under his bank and is now selling storage vaults. I purchased one to store a few extra rings and potions that I had been storing in the tavern. My vault sees a bit small and dingy, but Gomald says it is perfectly safe. He sells upgrades, but I do not need much space for now.

Day 90

I decided to reduce the price I charge for engraving items and extend the time I will hold them in the lost and found. In addition, if you are the owner of an item and want your personalization removed for any reason, drop the item on my work table and I will remove your name for a nominal fee.

Day 87

I decided to give people a bit more time to claim their items from the lost and found. I am also now explaining my item retention policy to those those who try to store their belongings in my tavern.
In other news, I talked to several adventurers who said they heard music while traveling through the forest. They did not know the source of the music.

Day 85

My lost and found is now overflowing with equipment! I hope people realize that I am not a long term storage facility. I will hold items for a week or so, but can't hold them forever. Well, I guess they will find out in a few days when I go through the lost and found. If I see anything that has not been moved in a week, I will remove its engraving so that anyone who needs it can take it.

Day 80

It has become apparent that there is no end in sight to the troubles this town is facing. I have decided that I must stay here as long as I can, and help out any way that I can. To that end, I have opened a tavern in town to offer my services, training, and a place to rest after a hard day of battle.

Day 67

It seems that Aberoth is under yet another threat. I have heard rumors that there are wolves in the forest to the east. According to one traveler I spoke to, they were quite aggressive when confronted, but did not attack when he stayed a small distance away.

Day 60

I have spoken to Lysis, and she has decided that from now on she is only going to train Champions in the life skill. Everyone in town agrees that as the battle with our enemies intensifies, we must be more careful with our trust.

Day 44

With the help of Lysis, Inala has acquired some magical items. These items will be given only to the bravest champions who have answered her call to duty.

Day 42

Inala reports that the orcs have completed their lair in the stony field to the west! Once again Inala is looking for volunteers to investigate. I imagine that one would have to be quite hearty to venture into the home of the orcs.

Day 37

The orcs have proven to be stronger and heartier than the rogues. Many brave warriors have died at their hands. I have spoken to Lysis, and she tells me that she has created some magical items to help us with our battle. I hope this gives us the advantage we need to stop the orcs.

Day 35

There is a new threat to the people of Aberoth! Orcs have been seen camping to the west. No one knows what their intentions are, but Inala is already making plans to deal with them. She asked me to spread the word that she is looking for volunteers to help gather information, and fight if necessary.

Day 28

Gomald and Sholop have recently made donations to Inala to help her fight the rogues. Inala said she was going to put those donations to use right away, but she did not give me any details. Anyone willing to fight the rogues should go see her.

Day 26

I had a nice conversation with Sholop today. He tells me that he has acquired several items with magical properties from adventurers, and has them for sale in his shop. Unfortunately, he has no way of keeping these rare items in stock.

Day 25

We have yet another advantage in our battle. A man named Sholop, who was once a great warrior himself, has opened a shop to sell us what we need in our fight. No longer must we fight unarmed and unprotected against our foes.

Day 22

The village continues to mobilize against the rogues. A woman named Inala has become the leader of the town's forces. She is providing equipment and instructions to any and all who are brave enough to fight.

Day 21

There have been a number of recent deaths at the hands of the rogues. It is no longer safe to travel the countryside with large quantities of gold.
Gomald, a local villager, has decided to establish a bank in town. This will benefit us greatly in our conflict with the rogues. With their gold safely in the bank, champions may be emboldened in their attacks on the despicable outsiders.

Day 18

The town is still fighting rogues. Many villagers and champions have joined forces to attack them in their lair, but the overall effectiveness of our attacks is not known. They have recently reinforced their structure by installing a locked door to block the entrance. This will hinder our strikes on the leader. There are also reports that the rogues are collecting gold and weapons, perhaps to arm their allies or new recruits.
Because of the ongoing rogue threat, the villagers have decided to build a stronger, larger structure farther to the east. Perhaps this will buy us some time.

Day 11

The problem with the rogues continues. I have killed many of them, and with the help of fellow champions have managed to drive them out of the south and east for the most part. I was also able to follow one of the rogues without being detected. He headed to the north and west. After some time we came upon a grove of trees that hid a small structure. There were several guards outside, and the scoundrel I was following entered the structure. I was alone, so I quickly returned to town. I will return when I have gathered together enough champions to rout them from their lair.

Day 5

Rogues have been spotted in the meadow!

While I suspected that the calm would not last, I did not expect trouble so soon. These outlaws are very bold. One villager has already been killed, and several others wounded. People are now afraid to go outside. I am arming myself to rid the land of these menaces. I have seen them with daggers and axes, and they have been known to band together, so I will need to be careful. I am also going to attempt to discover where they are coming from.

Day 2

Some people from the village have reported seeing a bee that has a blue shine to it. They say it moves faster than the yellow bees. One quick lad named Trint attempted to kill it with his dagger. He struck it twice and pursued it for several minutes. When he stopped to catch his breath, it got away.

Day 1

My name is Tavelor, and I have been forced to leave the world I know. I am not yet able to disclose the circumstances of my departure, but I feel I must begin keeping this journal so the the events to unfold are not lost to the ages.

I have traveled for over a year searching the lands beyond the edge of the map. I have finally found a small village that will suit my needs. The people who are living here call this place Aberoth. There are some who call this place home, and a few others who are just passing through. There are several structures of interest in town, but none are very large in size.

The people here view me with suspicion, although they are kind and considerate for the most part. I cannot yet tell them who I really am, or what I am doing here, and this weighs on my conscience. I find some solace in the fact that I myself do not even know the exact path I will follow. I just know that this place has what I need.

For now, I am enjoying the calm. For the most part, this place is very peaceful, although several citizens have complained about rabbits eating from their gardens and bees tormenting their children. I have been able to exterminate some of these troublesome pests to show my loyalty to the community. While these animals are difficult to strike, it seems they cannot physically harm anyone.
